Accreditation & Licensing

We want you to be completely clear about what an ABOD AUTO certificate is, and what it isn't.

Independent training — not a licence or accredited qualification

ABOD AUTO is an independent professional education and certification initiative operated by ABOD AUTO PTY LTD.

ABOD AUTO courses are voluntary, non-accredited training programs. ABOD AUTO is not a registered training organisation (RTO), a government licensing authority or a government-endorsed certification body.

Completing an ABOD AUTO course does not:

  • grant a motor vehicle salesperson, dealer or any other statutory licence or registration
  • award a nationally recognised qualification or statement of attainment
  • replace any mandatory training, licensing or registration requirement in any jurisdiction
  • authorise you to perform any activity that requires a government licence
  • guarantee employment.

ABOD AUTO certification confirms only that you have completed ABOD AUTO's own independent training and assessment.

Licensing and training requirements differ between countries, states and territories, and they change. You, and any employer, must check the requirements that apply where you work with the relevant government regulator.

We offer an Experience Recognition Pathway for people already working in automotive sales. Because ABOD AUTO is independent, non-accredited training, this is not recognition of prior learning, credit transfer or an exemption in the regulated sense. Experience can be recognised in place of completing the modules, but never in place of the assessment: every certificate is issued only after a pass on the same 42-question assessment, at the same standard.

Requirements differ by location

Whether a salesperson needs a licence, registration or mandatory course depends on the country, state or territory, and can change. In Australia, for example, Western Australia requires a motor vehicle salesperson licence and Queensland requires motor salesperson registration. Always check with the regulator where you work.

For employers

Use ABOD AUTO certification for induction and a consistent baseline. It doesn't replace licence, registration or police checks, mandatory courses, or your own supervision and training obligations.

Our commitment

We will never describe ABOD AUTO courses as government-approved, nationally recognised or accredited, or as equivalent to statutory training, unless we formally obtain that status. If we ever do, this page will say exactly which course, which body, and from what date.
